What is a CSE FW Seat?
FW stands for Fee Waiver. In Computer Science Engineering (CSE), students from economically weaker backgrounds can apply for FW seats which waive the tuition fee. In Uttar Pradesh, 5% of total approved seats in each engineering branch are reserved for Fee Waiver (FW) quota as per AICTE guidelines.
Eligibility for FW Quota in UP
- Annual family income must be less than ₹8,00,000.
- Candidate must qualify JEE Main and register for UPTAC (UPCET) counselling.
- FW seats are only available in AICTE-approved colleges.
- Income certificate must be valid and issued by competent authority.
Reservation Rule
In most UP engineering colleges, 5% of the total approved intake in each branch including CSE is reserved under the Fee Waiver (FW) scheme. These are supernumerary seats and are allotted based on rank and income status.
