The Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) is conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of Jharkhand. This exam is similar to the National Eligibility Test (NET) but is limited to the state level.
JET is organized to select candidates who are eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in the state universities and colleges. Those who qualify are considered for appointment whenever vacancies arise.

The JET exam consists of two papers conducted on the same day:
Both papers are objective type and conducted in offline/online mode. Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks to be considered eligible.
Paper I: Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Comprehension, Communication, Reasoning, Data Interpretation, ICT, People & Environment, Higher Education System.

Selection is based on the performance in the JET examination. Candidates who qualify the cutoff marks are issued a JET e-certificate which is valid for Assistant Professor recruitment in Jharkhand.
